Stripe in Pakistan: What the Official List Shows

Pakistan does not appear on Stripe's supported, Preview, or Extended-network country list. A US LLC plus EIN can meet the legal-entity and tax-ID items Stripe lists for a US Stripe business account. Stripe still requires a physical (not virtual) US bank account and its own approval. Mercury lists Pakistan as a prohibited founder-residence country.

Is Stripe available in Pakistan?

No listing appears for Pakistan on Stripe’s supported-countries page — not as a full country, not as Preview, and not as Extended network. (Stripe, Global, checked 2026-09-03)

That is an absence from Stripe’s own list. This page does not add a signup, preview, or workaround that Stripe does not publish there.

The dated country page is /blocked/stripe-pakistan.

What does Stripe require if I open a US account instead?

Stripe’s other-country requirements for a business account are: a legal entity registered in the same country as the Stripe account, a tax ID, a physical location that can receive mail (not a P.O. box), a phone number, government-issued ID, a working website, and a “physical bank account in that country… This can’t be a virtual bank account.” (Stripe, Requirements to open a Stripe account in another country, checked 2026-09-03)

A US LLC is a US-registered legal entity. An EIN is the IRS tax ID for that entity. Together they cover those two checklist items for a US Stripe account. They do not skip the address, website, ID, or physical-bank items, and they do not guarantee Stripe approval.

If the representative is not a US individual and has no SSN or ITIN, Stripe expects a local non-US tax ID plus documentation that the representative is not a US taxpayer. (Stripe, Business representative tax ID requirements for US companies, checked 2026-09-03)

Will a US bank automatically open for a founder living in Pakistan?

Not at Mercury. Mercury states it is “unable to open accounts for founders living in any of the countries and regions listed below” and includes Pakistan. (Mercury, Prohibited countries, checked 2026-09-03)

EIN.LLC’s offer includes a US business bank introduction. The bank decides whether to onboard you. (EIN.LLC pricing)

Where the EIN.LLC offer helps

EIN.LLC’s $399 formation (plus the state filing fee) is the US LLC filing and the EIN application. (EIN.LLC pricing)

The IRS: form the entity with the state first; if your principal place of business is outside the United States, apply for the EIN by phone, fax, or mail. You cannot use the IRS online application in that case. (IRS, Employer Identification Number; IRS, Instructions for Form SS-4, checked 2026-09-03)

On Form SS-4, if the responsible party has no SSN or ITIN and is ineligible to obtain one, the IRS instructs you to enter “foreign” or N/A on line 7b. (IRS, Instructions for Form SS-4)

That EIN is the tax ID Stripe lists for the company. It is not Stripe signup, and it is not a bank account.
